I don't think it'll come as a surprise to any of you that I chose to feature Eric Northman from The Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris! Eric is a big, bad, blonde, sarcastic vampire. He is the sheriff of Area 5. If you haven't read the series, vampire sheriffs are in control of all other vampires in that area. Eric is first introduced in Dead Until Dark, the first book in the series. However, he didn't become my epic book boyfriend until the 4th book - Dead to the World. DON'T LET THESE COVERS FOOL YOU! This book series has badass, sexy vampires. So, I thought I would share with you my love for Eric Northman in quotes (from the books) and gifs from the TV show True Blood, which is the show that is based off of the book series.*P.S. I think the casting of Alexander Skarsgard as Eric Northman is the most accurate casting ever.
He's protective
"You are speaking of my future lover. Be more respectful."
He's vulnerable
"You trust me?" Eric sounded surprised.
"Yes."
"That's... crazy, Sookie."
He's extremely sarcastic
"Hey, our hair's the same color," I said, eyeing us side by side in the mirror.
"Sure is, girlfriend." Eric grinned at me.
Even when he's mean, he's still sexy.
"I hate witches. Humans had the right idea, burning them at the stake."
But at the end of the day, Eric loves Sookie and puts her first.
"Yeah, cause they love me. You see how many vampires are up here? Zero, right?"
"One," said Eric, stepping out of the stairwell.
So, I hope this all convinced you to read The Sookie Stackhouse Series. You just might find a new book boyfriend! But clearly one of the other swoony guys in the series, because Eric is MY book boyfriend.

Ah! I LOVE Eric! Him and Sookie were one of my OTPs! He is definitely my favorite love interest of the series. And YES. Alex Skarsgard was the PERFECT pairing! I never did read the last Sookie book, because well. I'm sure you can figure out why. Maybe someday....

I love Eric, too! Him and Sookie are EPIC! He is the BEST vampire. I do understand why =/ .... You should read The Midnight, Texas series by Charlaine! There are some Sookie Series easter eggs in there. Thanks for including me in the tour :)
DeleteOh I adore Eric and the fourth book was my favorite of the series. Like Jess, I still haven't worked up to reading the last book for reasons... but I do hope to finish up the series one of these days. He is definitely my favorite of all the characters and Alex was perfect for him! Thanks for participating in the tour!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the fourth book in the series! I still haven't read the last book in the series either but I do know what happens. I still think the ending is better than the TV series ending, though! And I actually think I like All Together Dead the best - such a random book in the series as a favorite haha. DeleteVampires is not at all like in the movies or books. Sure, I understand. You are young you have the whole world open to you. You can be anything that you choose if you apply yourself and try hard to work toward that goal. But being a Vampire is not what it seems like. It’s a life full of good, and amazing things.
