Waiting on Wednesday #22

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Jocelyn's Waiting On:

Stone Field: Christy Lenzi
Publication Date: March 29th, 2016

Synopsis:

In a small town on the brink of the Civil War, Catrina finds a man making strange patterns in her family’s sorghum crop. He’s mad with fever, naked, and strikingly beautiful. He has no memory of who he is or what he’s done before Catrina found him in Stone Field. But that doesn’t bother Catrina because she doesn’t like thinking about the things she’s done before either.

Catrina and Stonefield fall passionately, dangerously, in love. All they want is to live with each other, in harmony with the land and away from Cat’s protective brother, the new fanatical preacher, and the neighbors who are scandalized by their relationship. But Stonefield can’t escape the truth about who he is, and the conflict tearing apart the country demands that everyone take a side before the bloodbath reaches their doorstep.

A historical fiction romance?  Yes please!! I can't think of anything better. I honestly am dying to get this book. Even though this was based off of Wuthering Heights, don't believe I've read anything like this. I hope you all get this on your radar as well.

Cassie's Waiting On:

Let the Wind Rise (Sky Fall #3) by Shannon Messenger
Publication Date: April 26, 2016

Synopsis:

Let the Wind Rise (Sky Fall, #3)Vane Weston is ready for battle. Against Raiden’s army. Against the slowly corrupting Gale Force. Even against his own peaceful nature as a Westerly. He’ll do whatever it takes, including storming Raiden’s icy fortress with the three people he trusts the least. Anything to bring Audra home safely.

But Audra won’t wait for someone to rescue her. She has Gus—the guardian she was captured with. And she has a strange “guide” left behind by the one prisoner who managed to escape Raiden. The wind is also rising to her side, rallying against their common enemy. When the forces align, Audra makes her play—but Raiden is ready.

Freedom has never held such an impossible price, and both groups know the sacrifices will be great. But Vane and Audra started this fight together. They’ll end it the same way.

I have been a huge fan of this unique and interesting series from Shannon Messenger from the start.  This promises to be an mind-blowing conclusion, and I simply can't wait.  Shannon Messenger is a gifted author that has created such a different and awesome series that everyone should check out!
