The enemy has risen from the grave. Together we slayers must stand, or one by one we will fall.

Ali Bell's crew of zombie slayers thought they'd won the war against Anima Industries, the evil company responsible for capturing and experimenting on zombies in an effort to discover the secret to immortality. In the last epic clash, the slayers lost many of their crew and closest friends. But Frosty, the ice man himself, has not recovered from one casualty in particular — the love of his life, Kat Parker.

On the path to self-annihilation, Frosty receives a message from beyond — Kat's spirit returns, insisting he partner with rogue slayer Camilla Marks. Frosty will do anything for Kat. Except that. Camilla's betrayal caused Kat's death.

But when Anima rises from the grave stronger than ever, Frosty, Camilla and all the slayers will have to work together to survive. And one broken slayer will learn that sometimes the line between hate and attraction is blurred... and the road to redemption may mean letting go of the past and grabbing hold of the future.

The White Rabbit Chronicles was one of my first zombie series, and because of this, it has always had a special place in my heart. While I was happy after the ending of the third book, as Gena ended it on a high note, I still wanted more. So when I saw the announcement that she was writing a fourth book in the series, I was over the moon. Even though this book is in Frosty and Milla's POV, it fit right in with the rest of the books and was the perfect addition to the series. I couldn't put this book down when I started it. From the very first page, Gena pulled you in and never let you go. I simply couldn't get enough of reading about Frosty and Milla. In one word, this book was AMAZING, and everyone who is a fan of this series needs to read this as soon as possible.

“Let your light shine, never look back and live as if today is your last day...because it just might be.”

The one thing that I loved so much about this novel was the fact that it was a journey for the characters in many different ways. Gena captured Frosty's depression and sadness over Kat perfectly, and it was excruciatingly difficult to watch a character I love so much go through something so tragic. This aspect of the book was so well written and beautiful. Few authors can make you feel so strongly about a character, but Gena definitely has that talent. Not only were these beginning chapters written so well, but Frosty's character development over the course of the story was breathtaking. I feel like Gena truly showcased her talents as an author in this story because his character was unlike anything I have ever read. And I loved every single second of it. In the previous books, we only had a vague idea of what Frosty was truly like, but in this novel we are able to understand why Frosty is the way he is, and we get to know him much better. Plus, we find out Frosty's actual name, and it is perfect!

“Scars speak for you. They say you're strong, and you've survived something that might have killed others.”

As much as I wanted to dislike Milla for everything she did in the previous books, I just couldn't help but falling in love with her character as well. She has had such a difficult life, and I admired her strength and general badass nature. She didn't take anything from anyone, and had such a great sass and feisty nature that you can't help but love her! However, the thing that I loved the most about her character was watching her grow over the course of the novel. She feels absolutely terrible about the things she did in the past, and she doesn't think she is worthy of any type of forgiveness. But we get to witness Camilla forgive herself and realize that mistakes should never define a person. I'll admit, when I found out that Camilla was in this book and was going to be Frosty's love interest...well I had my doubts. But let's just say, you'l realize how utterly perfect they are for each other, and will love them together right from the get go.

“Real love never fails, never fades, and the greatest expression of it is giving.”

We get to see all of our favorite characters return, but this truly is Camilla and Frosty's book. Gena never fails to impress me with her ability to balance the supernatural, action, and romance in her books. She never lets one aspect overshadow another, and it makes for a fun, gripping read. The ending of this book however did make me tear up because this series is officially over. Regardless, it was a beautifully perfect ending. I had a huge smile on my face while reading the "letters" and I think any reader will too. Read this as soon as you can because you do NOT want to miss out!!

Happy reading :)

  1. YES I loved this book, I thought it was an epic conclusion to the White Chronicles series, but I'm so sad it's over now! *sob* Great review!

    1. YES! I'm so sad that this is officially over. I totally think she should do a spin off with Kat though haha! And thank you :)

  2. OOoh nice! I still need to read this one! I too loved the series from the getgo and was happy to hear of a 4th book with Frosty! Can't wait to dive into this and see what makes him tick and Milla too!

And a bit of shameless promotion here, if you haven't read Gena's first YA series, Intertwined...I HIGHLY recommend it! It was more or less canceled...I might still be living in denial over that, but a small part of me remains hopeful that maybe one day Gena will revive the series for one final book to give us all the answers we crave for! Plus, it was top notch awesome! It's different than her zombie series, but still incredible! So do check it out if you enjoyed this series! ;)

    end of shameless-not-shameless promotion! ;)

    Great review! :D

    1. Thank you! You're going to love this book :) And I have read the Intertwined series...still super disappointed that she cancelled the last book. But I'm still holding out that same hope that she eventually goes back and finishes it. I don't care when it's published, whether that would be next year or 20 years from now haha, I'll still read it and devour it lol.

  3. I didn't read the entire review because like I'm totally anticipating to read this one. First of all, after I finished the third book I had no idea there was going to be a fourth! I definitely there was room for more to the story but like, authors don't usually do that unannounced beforehand. So like I was super excited because I love Cole. Gena's writing is so sexy in a non provocative and silly way. She has such a way with romance and her character relationships. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has been following this series like it's a religion. HAHA I thought I was the only one obsessed with Gena Showalter. She's like the first author I grew up reading, which is weird because she mostly writes adult books.

    1. I was the same! I had no clue about the fourth book, and when she announced it, I was literally fangirling so hard lol. My family thought I was nuts for being so excited, but seriously...who can blame me?? Gena's writing is so flawless, and I'm definitely checking out her other series soon. But don't worry, you're definitely not alone in your obsession ;)
