The Last Harvest by Kim Liggett
Publication Date: January 10th, 2017
Synopsis:
“I plead the blood.”
Those were the last words seventeen-year-old golden boy quarterback Clay Tate heard rattling from his dad's throat when he discovered him dying on the barn floor of the Neely Cattle Ranch, clutching a crucifix to his chest.
Now, on the first anniversary of the Midland, Oklahoma slaughter, the whole town's looking at Clay like he might be next to go over the edge. Clay wants to forget the past, but the sons and daughters of the Preservation Society—a group of prominent farmers his dad accused of devil worship—won't leave him alone. Including Ali, his longtime crush, who suddenly wants to reignite their romance after a year of silence, and hated rival Tyler Neely, who’s behaving like they’re old friends.
Even as Clay tries to reassure himself, creepy glances turn to sinister stares and strange coincidences build to gruesome rituals—but when he can never prove that any of it happened, Clay worries he might be following his dad down the path to insanity...or that something far more terrifying lies in wait around the corner.

I think the real horror story with this book is that it didn't come out during halloween-time! However, I must say that it does look like a really creepy book! And Tor Teen has been churning out some great books lately so I really want to try this one because I haven't read many horror YA novels!
Cassie's Waiting On:
Publication Date: January 10, 2017
Synopsis:
Welcome to Gideon Davorin’s Traveling Sideshow, where necromancy, magical visions, and pyrokinesis are more than just part of the act…
Mara has always longed for a normal life in a normal town where no one has the ability to levitate or predict the future. Instead, she roams from place to place, cleaning the tiger cage while her friends perform supernatural feats every night.
When the struggling sideshow is miraculously offered the money they need if they set up camp in Caudry, Louisiana, Mara meets local-boy Gabe…and a normal life has never been more appealing.
But before long, performers begin disappearing and bodes are found mauled by an invisible beast. Mara realizes that there’s a sinister presence lurking in the town with its sights set on getting rid of the sideshow freeks. In order to unravel the truth before the attacker kills everyone Mara holds dear, she has seven days to take control of a power she didn’t know she was capable of—one that could change her future forever.
I'm a huge fan of Amanda Hocking, which makes me super excited for her new book! She's such a great writer...one who I wish received more attention because her stories are truly like no other. Plus, this book is set in Louisiana, which is always fun! January 2017 is already looking like a good month for books!
Ooh nice picks! Can't wait to read The Harvest! Love a good spooky read! And Freeks looks like an intriguing read too! Hope you both enjoy your pick once you read it!

Both of these are new-ish to me! I'd seen Freeks before; I liked Hocking's Trylle and Kanin series, so it'll be interesting to see how this new book will turn out. I just saw The Last Harvest for the first time, on another WoW post! That first line of the synopsis though. o_o The book has my attention. I hope you two these books when you get a chance to read them!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous week, ladies. :)
